Open Source

Parthenon understands the value and costs associated with open-source software. As a result of our contribution to the following projects we have built up a high degree of expertise with XML based open-source software. As such we are able to provide high quality software consultancy around these projects.

Our founder and director, Gareth Reakes, is the Chair of the Apache Xerces Project Management Committee. In this role he manages the project and our engineers who contribute their time towards implementing features of the Xerces suite of XML parsers.

Whilst working for DecisionSoft Ltd some of our staff developed the Pathan implementation of XPath 1.0.

Sleepycat engaged Parthenon Computing to provide a development team for their Berkeley DB XML native XML database project.

Our Policy Server product integrates with OpenSAML. We contributed back extentions and improvements.
