Short Messaging Service (SMS)

SMS has long been used as a marketing tool. Services such as premium texting, where mobile phone owners are charged for receiving text messages, have created a new route to revenue generation. The services that can be offered don't just stop at ring tones and logos.

Many people prefer information to be sent directly to their phones and are happy to pay a premium for it. If you send emails to your customers as part of a service then you should consider offering to text them. It is relatively cheap to set up and fully integratable with your existing systems. Plus a text based service has the added advantage that the customer is likely to receive and read the message immediately.
