XML Databases
Semi-structured data has always been difficult to map onto relational tables, and with the advent of XML this has become a more widespread problem. As more and more data is now stored in XML formats, the need for a semi-structured XML databases will increase.
Parthenon has significant expertise in the area of XML databases. This expertise is recognized
internationally - we are partners with two large XML database vendors: MarkLogic and Sleepycat. We provide technical support, post-sales support and training for their customers.
Parthenon’s experience does not stop at using XML databases; we have also implemented them. We were contracted by Sleepycat to build an XML database on top on their Berkeley DB product. DB XML includes full XQuery support. This has recently been released and has been warmly received by the community. Read what Sleepycat Software have to say.
Parthenon have extended this work by building a .NET API for Berkeley DB XML (available for free download).
